Managing Your Job Alerts

Last updated 5 months ago

As your job search evolves, you'll want to adjust your alerts to match your changing priorities. Here's how to keep your alerts organized and effective.

Viewing All Alerts

Access your alerts from multiple places:

  • Dashboard sidebar - Quick view of all saved searches with alert status
  • Account Settings > Notification Settings - Comprehensive alert management
  • Saved Searches page - Full list with editing options

Editing an Alert

To modify an existing alert:

1
Navigate to your saved searches
2
Click on the alert you want to edit
3
Update the search criteria, name, or notification settings
Save your changes
You can change:
  • Search terms and filters
  • Alert name
  • Notification frequency
  • Enable/disable notifications entirely

Pausing Alerts Temporarily

Need a break from notifications without deleting your searches?

Disable Individual Alerts
  1. Go to the saved search
  2. Toggle notifications off
  3. Your search remains saved for later use
Disable All Email Notifications
  1. Go to Account Settings > Notification Settings
  2. Turn off the master email notifications toggle
  3. All alert emails stop, but searches remain active

Deleting Alerts

To permanently remove an alert:
  1. Go to your saved searches
  2. Click the delete icon next to the alert
  3. Confirm deletion

Organizing Your Alerts

Naming Conventions

Use clear, descriptive names that help you quickly identify each alert:

  • "Senior PM - Remote" rather than "Search 1"
  • "Data Science Bay Area" rather than "DS jobs"
  • "Marketing Director NYC $150k+" for specific criteria
Priority Management

With up to 10 alerts available:

  • Reserve instant notifications for top-priority searches
  • Use daily digests for exploratory or lower-priority searches
  • Delete alerts for roles you're no longer pursuing

Monitoring Alert Performance

Check how well your alerts are working:
  • Too many results? Make your search more specific
  • Too few results? Broaden your criteria or add synonyms
  • Stale results? Adjust date filters or check if the market is slow

Unsubscribing from Alert Emails

Every alert email includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Clicking it will:

  • Disable notifications for that specific saved search
  • Keep your saved search intact for manual use
  • Not affect your other alerts
