DirectApplicant offers flexible notification frequencies so you can stay informed without being overwhelmed. Choose the right option for each of your saved searches based on how quickly you want to know about new opportunities.
Available Frequencies
Instant Notifications Premium
Get notified immediately when new jobs match your criteria.
Best for:
- High-priority job searches where timing matters
- Competitive roles that fill quickly
- When you want to be among the first applicants
What to expect:
- Email notifications within minutes of new job postings
- Push notifications (if enabled) for real-time alerts
- Multiple emails per day during peak posting times
Hourly Digest Premium
Receive a summary email at the top of each hour with all new matches.
Best for:
- Active job searches where you want timely updates
- Balancing responsiveness with inbox management
- Searches that generate moderate daily volume
What to expect:
- One email per hour (only if new matches exist)
- Compact list format showing all new jobs
- Sent only during your notification hours (if configured)
Daily Digest
Receive one comprehensive email per day with all new matches from the past 24 hours.
Best for:
- Passive job searches or long-term monitoring
- Searches with high volume that would overwhelm your inbox
- When you prefer to review opportunities once daily
What to expect:
- One email at 9 AM (your local time)
- Summary of all jobs posted in the last 24 hours
- Up to 10 jobs shown with a link to see more
Changing Notification Frequency
To adjust the frequency for a saved search:
- Go to your Saved Searches page
- Find the search you want to modify
- Click Edit or the settings icon
- Select your preferred notification frequency
- Save your changes
Email vs. Push Notifications
DirectApplicant supports two notification channels:
Email Notifications
- Available to all users
- Work regardless of device or browser
- Include full job details and direct links
- Easy to reference later in your inbox
Browser Push Notifications Premium
- Real-time alerts even when you're not on DirectApplicant
- Work when your browser is running in the background
- Quick glance at new opportunities
- Click to go directly to job details
You can enable both channels for the same alert, or use just one based on your preference.
Managing Notification Volume
If you're receiving too many notifications:
- Switch from instant to hourly or daily
- Make your saved searches more specific
- Reduce the number of active alerts
- Set notification quiet hours in your account settings
