Updating Your Profile

Your profile information helps DirectApplicant provide personalized recommendations and ensures your job alerts are effective. Here's how to keep your profile up to date.


Accessing Profile Settings

  1. Click your profile icon in the top navigation
  2. Select Account Settings
  3. Choose Profile from the sidebar

Profile Information

Basic Information

Keep these details current:

  • Name - How you'd like to be addressed in notifications
  • Email - Where you receive job alerts and account notifications
  • Location - Your current city or region (helps with relevant suggestions)

Email Address Changes

Enter your new email address

Confirm your current password

Click Update Email
Verify the new address via the confirmation email sent

Password Management

Changing Your Password

  1. Go to Account Settings > Security
  2. Enter your current password
  3. Enter and confirm your new password
  4. Click Update Password

Password Requirements

For security, passwords must:

  • Be at least 8 characters long
  • Include a mix of letters and numbers
  • Not be a commonly used password

Forgot Your Password?

If you can't remember your current password:

  1. Log out of your account
  2. Click Forgot Password on the login page
  3. Enter your email address
  4. Follow the reset link sent to your email

Resume and Documents

Uploading Your Resume

A current resume enables AI coaching features:

  1. Go to Profile > Resume
  2. Click Upload Resume
  3. Select your file (PDF or Word format)
  4. Your resume is parsed and stored securely

Updating Your Resume

When your experience changes:

  1. Upload a new version using the same process
  2. The new version replaces the previous one
  3. AI coaching will use your updated information

Notification Preferences

Customize how DirectApplicant contacts you:

  • Email Notifications - Enable/disable job alert emails
  • Push Notifications - Enable/disable browser notifications Premium
  • Notification Hours - Set quiet hours when you won't receive alerts

Deleting Your Account

If you need to delete your DirectApplicant account:

  1. Go to Account Settings > Privacy
  2. Click Delete Account
  3. Confirm your decision
